This is a Vietnam Service medal (minus the ribbon and clasp) that I've carried in my pocket for almost 40 years. Click on it for a closer look.

Misc. photos : 1. A pre-deployment photo of myself (left) and Ken Tardif at camp Pendleton during a Field Problem exercise. I think the problem might have been how to open my canteen. 2. Me yelling at the photographer. This was either taken in Bin Thuy or Saigon near the Army PX. 3. Me again at ATSB Solid Anchor on the Cau Mau Peninsula in 1970 or '71. I look 16 in this photo but I was 20 at the time 4. This was the first thing I saw as I ran from the Sea Wolf chopper at ATSB Solid Anchor which was at General Quarters at the time. I believe the occasion had something to do with Vietnamese elections.

See also photos sent in by LCDR Rich Long who was an RD3 at Solid Anchor while I was there. Click HEREfor Rich's contributions.

Some Navy Unit patches that were current during my tour. I was attached to TF-116.
