"Me and starboard 50 cal leaving Danang for Hong Kong, Sunday, 9 April, 1967,  black and white of tows is an APL and barges leaving Guam for Subic, 10-65 Silouhette of Molala at anchor Danang taken from a Mike boat enroute to Monkey Beach for ships beer bust  Saturday, 8 April, 1967,  black and white with me on phone at main control is titled "more good watch standing" Feb, 1967.  black and white with me sitting at the throttle with sound poweredphones on dated October 1966"

"Heres another batch of Molala related shots. counter clockwise from top left "Electric shop metal lathe" , "Chuck Park on the fan tail" OCT 1966, "roughwater Pearl to Guam at the date line" 08 Feb, 1967, "Main generators looking to port.  Engine room "Number two main engine looking forward", "USS Lipan from Pearl.  Midway from Yokosuka to Hawaii July 1967"  (The Molala flooded its motor room.  Sea water was raising the deck plates and the Main motor was turning its commutator in water and oil. I discovered it coming on watch in the morning.)  We were towed back to pearl by the Lipan.  Number two Auxiliary enginge under going replacement of crank.  Apra harbor, Guam. "

On the fringe of typhoon Sally. "Counter clockwise from top to bottom: 1. Starboard side looking aft to tows on horizon. 2. Starboard side gun deck looking forward. #. Port side looking forward. 4. Williams and DiMondi making a fender, starboard side on the fantail (I remember they were having a hard time standing up and staying in one spot). 5. Starboard looking aft again. 6. Looking down from the flying bridge."

"Receiving air mail from the Kitty Hawk, 20 March, 1967. Gulf of Tonkin. Some times we would get mail and transfer personnel via helicopter, sometimes via high line with other vessels. Once the mail bag on a high line got dunked and we lost most of the mail. I got a soaked package cover with the insides missing... a care package from my mother."

"Transferring fuel to the Constant (MSO 427) two days east of Guam. Molala to Constant."

"29 March, 1967, gulf of Tonkin, Yankee Station special operations for Commander Task force 77. Running interference for the carrier launch and recoveries (Kitty Hawk and Enterprise). This is the Russian Trawler "Deflector" who we accomppanied for about a month. Her crew was friendly and would wave and throw their middle fingers for us when we showed our cameras! "
